Large Character Printer
The Control Print LCP Printers work on the basis of the non-contact Valvejet Drop-on-Demand inkjet process. A printer primarily consists of an ink system, in which the ink is kept under a relatively low pressure, a housing with an electric control system and a printing head which is connected with the two other parts by flexible hoses. Ink is transported by the ink system to the printing head where it supplies the jet (normally 7 or 17 jets with an average diameter of approximately 150 µm).
These in turn are fitted with single solenoid valves which can be opened or closed. When a droplet of ink is required, the valve in question is opened by the electronic system and the ink is forced out by the pressure. The software and electronics control the firing of individual drops to form the required characters.
The LCP range is available with both Porus (p100/p200) and Non Porus (np100/np200) systems.
